Sheet Unfolding is a web-based service which can help you to design more
then 200 different types of sheet unfoldings.
Three-dimensional structures such as containers, pipe bend elbows, pipe
branchings, screw conveyors and adapters can easily be created using this
software.
Using the well organized tree-based case browser you can choose the required
design from the supplied options.

You can enter the
dimensions directly into the displayed drawing.
|
 |
The
three-dimensional structure which is drawn to scale now rotates on the screen
for initial inspection. Full-scale unfolding can now be displayed by a simple
mouse click.
Products can be easily manufactured from two-dimensional sheet unfoldings using
parameters such as fold lines, flame-cut additions, folded seams etc. The
position of the welding seam can be modified interactively.

Large sheet unfoldings can
be assembled from several small sheets like a puzzle. A net of sheet
metal plates of a given size is displayed on top of the unfolding contour and
can be shifted using the mouse to a position which optimizes material
requirements. Co-ordinates are then given for each metal sheet.
Technical
calculation parameters such as unfolding length and width, sheet dimensions,
sheet weights, length of cuts and welded seams etc. can be printed as a table or
exported in Excel for each individual design.
-
accuracy of line interpolation
-
accuracy of arc interpolation
-
stamp length
-
number of fold lines
-
contours edge distance
-
horizontal and vertical step of net crossing
-
position of origin of coordinates
-
seam size
-
size of allowance
can be modified, thus making Sheet Unfolding a flexible and powerful design
instrument |
 |
All unfoldings which have been created can be further processed and modified in
the following manner at any time:
-
interpolation using lines
-
interpolation using arcs
-
interpolation using stamps
-
draw fold line with distance from contours
-
drawing with dashes
-
drawing with straight lines
-
drawing with bridges
-
drawing with notches
-
addition of folding lines
-
addition of seam with different width
-
addition of allowance with different width
-

-
select position of a welded seam (interactive or manually)
-
optimize length of a welded seam
-

-

-

-

Standard and complex seams
can be added to each unfolding contour and then further modified interactively.
Folded seams can also be regarded as connections to save material or welding
seams.
It is also possible to enter the geometry as thick-walled and to specify maximum
welding gaps for the most important de-signs. Connection pieces can be entered
as "stuck on" or "struck through".
Bending angles of each folding line can be given in a table for the most common
designs. Any regular cylinder and adapter piece can be designed and unfolded
using Case 163.
Sheet Unfolding can create data files in DXF, CNC and ME 10 (HP) format for data
exchange. The most common flame-cutting machines are already interfaced and a
modification to interface further machines can easily be implemented.
